WE are just one week away from the big day when so many of us have doing good and making a difference on our mind: #GivingTuesday. Here at the Flying Point Foundation for Autism, we are focused on providing fun programs for children with autism and opportunities for adults with autism to be themselves in a supported environment.
This year, our camp designed for kids with autism in mind yet offering the most traditional camp experience, alongside their typical peers and siblings, was super charged with eight days of activities that brought bright smiles to the faces of our campers, not to mention the staff and the families greeting their tired kids at day's end.
We hosted a many rec events throughout the year, including the very popular ART WITH THE PARRISH, and started a monthly Friday night collaboration with the Best Buddies club at a local high school.
Our adult clients at The Point also channeled their creative energy at their own Art with the Parrish sessions, honed their cornhole skills in our new league, and worked twice a week with our fitness trainer to keep their health on track, among other things.
