Did you know that over 70 million cows, pigs, chickens and other farm animals are slaughtered each year and during their short lives, they endure horrific acts of cruelty. These are the animals who often times get overlooked & I truly believe that if each person were to witness what these gentle souls endure, you would be appalled.

Green Mountain Animal Defenders (GMAD), a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non profit is holding a Walk For Farm Animals on October 4th in Burlington. Supporters willl walking 1.5 miles to raise awareness for these animals and to also raise needed funds. Our funds will be used to address future cruelty and/or neglect cases. In the past, GMAD saved over a dozen baby goats slated for slaughter and now comfortable in forever homes. GMAD rescued and supported the rehabilitation of many chicks and ducks facing a certain death due to deformities. GMAD also helped Bobby the cow reunite with his bovine friend Rupert at a sanctuary. The two are frolicking together in the woods like their ancestors before them.

Can we count on you? We understand that many of you are not vegetarian or vegan, but there are many choices we all make every day that can reduce suffering. We hope supporting us in this walk will be one of them.
