The Humane Society of Marlboro County is hosting the third annual “Shelter Slumber Pawty” in an effort to raise funds and increase awareness for our shelter animals. Last year we raised $20,503, and we are hoping to meet or exceed our goal of $20,000 again this year!
For 24 hours, our 2-legged participants will play, eat, and even sleep in the shelter kennels along with one of their favorite 4-legged shelter residents. The entire event will be streamed on social media as participants provide viewers with a sneak peek into the lives of shelter pets.
The Humane Society of Marlboro County is a non-profit animal rescue organization devoted to saving, rehabilitating and re-homing abandoned and abused animals in Marlboro County, SC. We operate the open intake Marlboro County Animal Shelter which houses pets for Marlboro County and the City of Bennettsville, SC. Our small staff plus an amazing group of volunteers provide daily care, feeding, housing and medical care for over 1,600 animals a year in need. Additionally, we cover all costs associated with transporting our shelter animals to our wonderful rescue partners. We are hopeful that enough funds will be raised this year to cover the remaining balance owed on our life saving rescue transport van to ensure our shelter babies continue to have their freedom ride available!
