Langley Elementary is a Title 1, DC Public Elementary School. We are serving over 300 students PK3-5th grade. 50% of our students are "at risk", 7% experiencing homelessness, and 30% are students with disabilities.
We are trekking together to raise money for our growing and diverse school community from PK3-5th grade. With your support we want to improve our playground, build a handicap accessible walkway through our garden, organize PTSA events and get more school supplies.
Three years ago, the school adopted a trailblazing socio-emotional learning program that has already had a dramatic impact. Langley registering one of the highest achievement increases in the city last year. We are proud of the collective efforts of our school administrators, teachers, parent community, and students!
Join us for our first Langley Tiger Trek Walkathon. Families, friends, neighbors, businesses and the community are welcome to join!
When
Thursday, Feb. 6th at 4pm
Where
We will meet at the auditorium and walk around the school (or if the weather is bad, around the ground floor). Dress up, bring signs promoting your class, and invite your families and friends!
Goal
Our aim is to raise $10,000. We encourage each student to raise $15 and each class to have a combined goal of at least $15 x number of students in your class. Ask your families, neighbors, friends, and local businesses to sponsor you or your class. All proceeds will be used to make our school better for our growing and diverse school community.
How to Donate to a Particular Class
1. Click/tap on a class above in the Leaderboard and donate through the class page.
OR
2. Click/tap the Donate button and when prompted, write in the class you want your funds to go toward.
How to Donate to More Than One Grade
Repeat above steps 1 or 2 for every class page to which you want to donate. They will be separate transactions.
How Much Do I Give?
Any amount makes a difference. Can you give $5, $15, $25, $100, $500 or even $1,000. You choose the amount and you'll get our heartfelt thank you and a tax receipt as the Langley Education Campus PTSA is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation.
Fun prizes for the classes
1) The class who reaches their class goal first will win a pizza party
2) All classes that reach their class goal will win a "no uniform day"
3) Classes with 100% attendance at the walk will win a popcorn & movie party
4) Teachers who promote the Tiger Trek weekly on their social media accounts, send weekly fliers home to parents and participate in the walk with their class get a $50 Amazon gift card.
