The Leadership Hudson Class of 2014 is pleased to announce our class project: we will invest in our city and our children by powering Barlow Community Center with clean, renewable solar energy through the installation of solar panels! Hudson is a leader and a beacon of progress and community investment in Northeast Ohio, yet it has no significant source of truly renewable energy installed. What better and more visible way to exemplify progress than by powering our community gathering place with renewable solar energy?
This investment of the solar panels in our community will pay for itself by saving the city thousands of dollars in energy costs over its lifetime. It will serve as a beacon to current and prospective residents, marking Hudson as a city focused on its future.
We propose to partner with Hudson Public and private schools to integrate data and more gleaned from our solar array into an educational curriculum teaching students about the science and engineering behind this rapidly emerging energy source. A LED display will show energy generated (and much more) in real-time.
We have received Hudson City Council approval and support for this project, and have begun to fundraise toward our $50,000 financial goal, which will allow us to purchase and install this system. We are seeking support from businesses, individuals, and organizations who want to invest in Hudson for today and for the future. To that end, we’ve developed a sponsorship program, outlined below, to raise these funds and prominently and permanently recognize our supporters.
Sponsorships are tax deductive through our partnership with Leadership Hudson, a 501c3
Sponsorship Levels:
Founding Sponsor: $10,000 – Premier sponsorship benefits plus organization’s logo displayed on LED screen
Premier Sponsor: $5,000-$10,000 – Business logo will be included on our commemorative plaque with top billing on the sponsor roster. The plaque will be prominently mounted in Barlow Community Center.
‘Adopt a Panel’ Sponsor: $1,000-$5,000 – Each Panel Sponsor will have their company name engraved on our commemorative plaque. This is the approximate cost of each of the 44 panels we will install.
Supporting Sponsor: $100-$1000 – Each donor’s name will be listed on our recognition plaque
Friend of Solar: $50-$100 - Each donor's name will be listed in printed recognition material
