Once a year, for one night, shelters across the country stay awake together—and for the fourth year in a row, we’re proud to be one of them.

Our shelter is participating in the national Shelter Slumber Pawty because nighttime tells a story most people never see. When the doors close and the world quiets down, our animals are still here. Some curl up and sleep peacefully, finally safe. Others pace, listen, and wonder. One night may seem small, but it represents the thousands of nights our animals spend waiting for healing, hope, and a home.

We keep coming back to this one-night event because it makes a real difference. Funds raised during the Shelter Slumber Pawty help provide meals, medical care, clean beds, enrichment, and the dedicated staff and volunteers who show up every single day, especially on the hard ones. That single night helps carry us through many more.

This is our fourth year participating because the need is still here, and the impact is real. Until every animal has a safe place to sleep and a future to look forward to, we’ll keep staying up, speaking out, and inviting our community to spend one meaningful night making change.

On the surface, a shelter slumber party sounds a little whimsical—sleeping bags, late-night snacks, maybe a few yawns the next morning. But for us, this national Shelter Slumber Pawty has been about something much deeper.

The Shelter Slumber Pawty invites people to step into that reality—even just a little.

By spending a night in the shelter, our supporters choose empathy over comfort. They choose to notice what usually goes unseen. They choose to stand with animals who don’t get to go home at the end of the day. It’s a simple act, but a powerful one: showing up when it’s quiet, when it’s hard, when it would be easier to look away.

We keep coming back because it works.

Over the past three years, this event has helped us raise critical funds for food, medical care, enrichment, and second chances. It has sparked conversations, built community, and turned curious participants into lifelong advocates. Most importantly, it has reminded us—and everyone involved—why shelters exist in the first place: not just to house animals, but to care for them with compassion, even through the long nights.

Until every animal has a safe place to sleep, a full bowl, and someone who won’t give up on them, we’ll keep rolling out the sleeping bags. We’ll keep telling their stories. And we’ll keep choosing to stay the night—together.

Beyond sheltering, MACS is about keeping families whole.

Every month, we provide donated pet food to more than 800 low-income households, helping loving families care for the animals who depend on them. When supplies allow, we offer straw for warmth, crates for safety, dog houses for shelters simple things that mean comfort, dignity, and survival for pets who would otherwise go without. We also support our community with low-cost veterinary care, sponsored spay and neuter surgeries, and emergency medical assistance when a pet’s life hangs in the balance.

For the animals who cannot stay in their homes, we become their safety net—their second chance.
For those who can, we help keep them where they belong.

The animals we serve cannot ask for help. They rely on us. And we rely on you.

Your monetary donation makes this work possible. It puts food in empty bowls, warmth in cold nights, and hope where there might have been heartbreak. Please give today so we can continue to be a voice for the voiceless—whether they remain with the families who love them or find refuge in our care.

Together, we can make sure no pet is left behind. 💙

Please give today, then watch the Pawty on Facebook April 18-April 19, 2026.
