Let's Keep Players Moving & Improving this Winter!

Join our 2020 Fundraiser to prepare our new winter indoor facility for safe and efficient play

COVID-19 has changed the way we do soccer, but it hasn’t changed our love for the game.

As we looked to the winter and the unpredictability of the coronavirus, we knew that ensuring our players had a safe space to play and grow — and keep their spirits high — was more important than ever.

To make this happen, we made the tough decision to not renew our contract with the Utah Athletic Center (UAC) this winter, instead opting for an indoor space we knew would need A LOT of elbow grease but would provide us with complete control over the facility, the logistics and safety precautions.

Friendly Team challenge….

We  have a friendly team challenge as coaches and their teams will vie for the top spots in these two categories: (1) Most money raised and/or (2) Most number of donors. Team winners get a cool prize TBA.

How to Donate Toward a Team

Step 1: Click/tap on your Team/Coach above in the Leaderboard and donate through the team's page.

Note: Teams are grouped together to even out the number of players.

How to Donate Toward More Than 1 Team

Repeat Step 1 above for every Team's page in which you want to donate. They will be separate transactions.

Donations are tax deductible as MetaSport is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation and you will receive an emailed tax receipt upon donating.

FUNDRAISER FAQS

What will the $20,000 pay for?

The good news is that this 22,000 square-foot facility at 845 N 400 E in Bountiful was available and affordable to rent for a nonprofit soccer club. But, it did mean having to invest in preparing the space (which has been vacant for years) as an indoor training center. Luckily, we were able to secure used sport-court flooring for one-quarter the price of new flooring and we keep it, which is an investment in future winters.

Here’s a rundown of what the $20,000 will help pay for:

  • 19,000 square feet of sport court flooring
  • 20 gallons of paint
  • 52 light fixtures
  • Hundreds of square feet of netting
  • Safety padding for pillars
  • COVID safety supplies including thermometers, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing products

How does the fundraiser work?

Through this online fundraiser, we are asking for 100% participation from our Meta community.

Instead of students selling products like cookie dough or wrapping paper and getting 50% or less of what’s raised, we’re fundraising for straight donations and asking as many supporters as we can to join our community and donate online.

With straight online fundraising, we get to keep more than 93% of the funds raised. Bonus! Donations are tax deductible as MetaSport is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation.

How much should I give?

We have nearly 400 players in the Meta community. If we can average raising $50 per player, we’ll meet our goal!

But we know everyone’s situation is different. And that’s the beauty of online fundraising as a community. If we get 100% Meta community participation, any amount makes a difference. Can you give $5, $25, $100, $500 or even $1,000? Did we mention donations are tax deductible?

Who’s doing the work to get the facility ready?

Meta staff and volunteers! We estimate that nearly 300 volunteer hours will be put into the new indoor space. Special thanks to Britain Thomas, Junior Hoffman, Michelle Wixom, Christian Hall and Chris Orn for all the hard work! (So far, no broken fingers.)

I own a business and want to support this effort…

We welcome local businesses or individuals/families who want to provide a matching grant/fund.

Do you accept checks?

Online donations are preferred, but we’re happy to accept checks. Please drop checks off at the mail slot at the MetaSport Office at 170 S Main Street, Bountiful, UT 84010. We will add these donation amounts as an offline donation to the fundraiser total.
