2021 Project Water Virtual 6K

Project Water Virtual 6K (May 15 - June 6)

The Project Water 6K is great because you can do it anywhere! Walk or run the distance, by yourself or with your family, and be part of this student-led movement to change lives. Whether you join from the treadmill or your favorite trail, the neighborhood, or the track… when you and others from our community walk, jog, or hike your way to 6K you’ll bring life-changing clean water to those who need it most.  

• All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to building a Deep Well through WorldVision's Clean Water Program. 
• All donations should go to the General Fund as we are unable to support individual participants for our 2021 event.  

Why 6K is significant:

Nearly 1,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. Furthermore, the average distance many women and children in the developing world walk for water is 6K.  Your participation can begin to help solve the problem.

How to participate:

First, tell your family, friends, and neighbors you are completing Project Water's Virtual 6K.  Send them this link and ask for their support by sponsoring you on a per kilometer basis or a fixed amount.   

Next, plan your event.  Map your course,  pick your date, gather your team, and get your feet moving!

Finally,  follow-up with your sponsors about the event and share your story with us on social media using #PW6K

What is Project Water:

Project Water is a student-run initiative that brings clean water and education to underdeveloped villages through fundraisers and service projects that impact communities across the street and around the globe.  Since 2015, PW has helped develop 6 water harvesting systems/wells, sponsorship of 10 children, and assist in launching a new secondary school in Sierra Leone.  To learn more, please click here to visit our website.
