Did you know....

• 3 out of 10 toddlers in Nevada aren't fully protected from serious diseases like measles, mumps, and whooping cough
• 6 out of 10 teens in Nevada aren't fully protected against cancer-causing HPV infections
• Influenza and pneumonia are two of the top-ten leading causes of death in Nevada
• Ongoing measles outbreaks across Europe have resulted in 21,000 people contracting the virus and 35 deaths of children over the past year. Diseases like these can easily arrive on the next flight to Nevada.

Immunize Nevada works every day to prevent disease, promote health, and make healthy futures possible for Nevadans of all ages. Creating a better and healthier future for our state has been our vision for over 20 years. But people across our urban, rural, and frontier communities face barriers to accessing vaccines, health care, and other resources. You can help change that.

Help Immunize Nevada make waves in our community by supporting the Pledges for Paddling program at the 2nd Annual Northern Nevada Dragon Boat races on August 18th! When you donate to Immunize Nevada through the Pledges for Paddling program: 

• You are saving lives. Because the gift of vaccination not only protects those who receive them, but it helps protect others too.  
• You are improving access to healthcare in our community. Because not everyone has health coverage or a primary care provider.  
• You are a role model. Because you are keeping your family, and our community’s children, seniors, and those with compromised immune systems protected from disease.

 Are you a paddler?

Dragon Boat teams have the opportunity to help us save lives, one vaccine at a time, by setting a fundraising goal. The recommended goal for a team is $1,000 – but any amount will help connect people in need to life-saving vaccines. Every dollar donated directly impacts friends, neighbors, and family members who rely on our education, outreach, and no-cost immunization programs. 

Paddlers raising a minimum of $100 will receive an event-branded bigtruck hat (while supplies last).

Teams raising a minimum of $3,000 will be eligible to compete for the top fundraiser prize package of an expanded team tent, tables, chairs, food, and drinks provided during race day.

Get creative! Bake sales (donations for dessert!), collect spare change, ask for birthday donations, share on social media, suggest a per race pledge amount (each team races three times), collect matching donations from your employer, the opportunities are endless!
