We are excited to participate in the 2024 Polar Bear Plunge again this year!
Saint Mary of the Annunciation will be raising funds for our Food Pantry and Homeless Ministries. We provide emergency food for low income and homeless families in Caroline County every Tuesday and Thursday evening through our Food Pantry. Approximately 50 volunteers work to ensure those needing food in Caroline County are provided items to prepare meals to feed their families. Over 200 families are registered to receive food once a month. The ministry is self-sufficient; we do not use parish funds for sustainment. The doors are kept open by monetary donations, low cost purchases through the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, and other charitable acts such as the Polar Bear Plunge, Wright's Chapel Christmas in April, and food-stuff donations by our parishioners.
We are thankful for the Ladysmith Ruritan Club that sponsors and works so hard each year organizing the Polar Bear Plunge for multiple non-profit organization in Caroline County. Each organization is competing to finish in the top 5 in money raised. The top 5 will receive a $500 check from the Ladysmith Ruritan Club.
Please help our team be one of those top 5 teams!
