Hunger is not a Thanksgiving issue: it is an issue 365 days a year!

The Inner City Development’s Emergency Food Pantry program serves thousands of meals per year to families who are in crisis. These families are located in the neighborhoods of the economically poorest precincts of Bexar County.

This annual fundraising effort funds the Emergency Food Pantry project for an entire year. It serves about 85 families in crisis each month who are in need of food. It helps them for a few days to bridge the gap through the crisis. They are limited to two visits per year, which prevents a dependency on the program.

Last year, the program served over 35,000 meals for families in crisis, children participating in our programs and sack lunches for the homeless. We are projected to serve over 45,000 meals this year! Since our opening in 1968, we have served over 3.2 million meals to date! Your donation will help continue this program!

Starting on Monday, November 8th, a group of fundraisers is fasting to help us reach our goal of $25,000 by November 18th at midnight. Your contribution will help us reach our goal quickly!

Monies raised exceeding $25,000 will be used to expand our summer youth recreation and nutrition programs provided by the Inner City Development Program.

Every dollar counts! Your donation will be greatly appreciated!
