Thanksgiving 365 (2025)

Hunger is not a Thanksgiving issue: it is an issue 365 days a year!

The Inner City Development’s Emergency Food Pantry program serves thousands of meals annually to families in crisis. These families are located in the neighborhoods of the economically poorest precincts of Bexar County.

Thanksgiving 365 is an annual fundraising effort that funds the Emergency Food Pantry project for an entire year. It helps bridge the gap through the crisis, limited to two visits per year, preventing dependency on the program.

In 2024, the Emergency Food Pantry provided:

• Over 35,000 meals through groceries to families in crisis
• Lunch and snacks for over 100 children throughout a 7-week summer program
• Over 8,000 sack lunches served to our unhoused neighbors

Next year, our projection, due to the present food crisis over the SNAP program, will be much higher. We expect to serve more than 40,000 emergency meals, thousands of sack lunches, and meals for children in Inner City programs. Since 1968, Inner City has operated one of San Antonio’s oldest food pantries. As need continues to grow, your donation helps ensure this vital program continues.

Beginning Monday, November 10th, a group of volunteers will fast until they each individually raise $1,000 to help us reach our goal of $40,000 by midnight on November 20th. Volunteers have agreed to help raise funds by fasting until they reach their goal. On this Mighty Cause fundraiser, you may contribute to either the General Fund for Thanksgiving 365 or to an individual faster to help them reach their personal goal for Thanksgiving 365.

Any money that comes in that exceeds the amount of money needed to stock the pantry for 365 days will go to support our children's programs.
