On May 6, hundreds of individuals from Engedi Church will partner with the West Michigan community through Tread. Through this annual initiative, runners and volunteers participate in the Tulip Time Run and commit to raising $100 each to support our efforts to help those in need. We’re so excited to celebrate our 13th year of coming together through Tread to help meet urgent needs across the world.

The Need

  • In Guatemala, nearly half of children under age five are malnourished and 54% of the population

            lives below the poverty line.

  • 46% of children in Michigan foster care have been in the system for more than 2 years, and over

half will not be reunified with either birth parents or family members by the age of 18.

  • 65% of women who have had an abortion state they had no support in the pregnancy decision.

  • In the U.S., there are over 100,000 children waiting to be adopted. The cost of adoption is the

          obstacle preventing families from adopting.

This year, our goal is to raise $60,000 to provide:

  • Housing, water, food, and shoes for impoverished kids and families in Guatemala

            through Manos de Jesus.

  • A loving and consistent presence in the lives of foster children offered through summer camps and

ongoing mentoring relationships through Love for a Child.

  • Loving and supporting people through life before, during, and after a pregnancy decision through Lakeshore Pregnancy Center.
  • Financial support for adoptive families through matching grants and interest-free loans through Lifesong for Orphans.

Let's all come together and take steps forward through Tread
