Together again!! Join us for Mississippi's Walk for Diabetes-Queen City on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the “Grove” at Bonita Lakes Park in Meridian, MS!

Registration starts at 1 pm, with the walk and ribbon cutting at 2 pm.

Walk, stroll, and roll with the DFM and help support Mississippi kids and adults living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes!

The 2022 walk theme is "Life is Better When We Walk Together!" I think we have all learned how important our support networks are in the last year. We all lean on others in some way: our health care providers, coworkers, friends and family.

Support those you love with diabetes by creating teams of families, friends, classmates, sport teams, Sunday school classes, and co-workers to walk in their honor! Individual walkers are also welcome as well as Virtual walkers/teams!

Thanks to the generous support of friends-friends like you- during the darkest days of the pandemic, we were able to continue our mission to improve the lives of children and adults living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Your support enabled us to shepherd so many Mississippians living with diabetes through the COVID-19 crisis, which was particularly risky to them, and to continue our other important work. For instance, we were able to handle far more—and far more complex—patient-assistance requests amid lost jobs and dwindling health insurance. We also provided our We Care 2 backpacks, filled to the brim with information, testing supplies, snacks and our cuddly canine mascot Sugar, to twice as many kids as we normally do.

For more information on our work and/or FUNdraising ideas call us at 601-957-7878.

*Due to COVID-19, we ask that all attendees follow CDC and local guidelines pertaining to crowded outdoor events and:

Get vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask when in an overcrowded area.   Masks will be available on-site.

We also ask that attendees practice social distancing.

Participants who would feel more comfortable doing a virtual walk with family and friends are encouraged to do so.
