Life is better when we walk together!  We can’t do much alone, but we can do a lot together!

Join us for this year’s Mississippi's Walk for Diabetes- Hattiesburg, with our Honorary Walk Chairs, the Waide family, on Sunday, October 30, 2022 , for the first time at Optimist Park!

The event will have fun festivities for the whole family! Registration and activities will begin at 1PM, followed by a One Mile Fun Run/Walk starting at 2PM. We all know the phrase, “it takes a village.” Bring your “village” and create a team, whether that is your family, friends, classmates, sports teams, Sunday school classes, co-workers, civic groups, or all of the above! Individual walkers are also welcome.

Many Mississippian kids and adults count on the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi to help them manage their diabetes. DFM provides newly diagnosed children and adults with information appropriate to their age, teaches school personnel to care for students with diabetes, and assists people struggling with the new economic realities with life-sustaining medications and supplies.

One hundred percent of donations raised by the Walk for Diabetes stay in our state to fund educational and assistance programs for Mississippi adults and children with type 1 and type 2, as well as Camp Kandu for children with diabetes! Don’t miss out on a beautiful day to get your steps in, honoring or remembering those you love with diabetes! To register, call the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi at 601-957-7878 or visit msdiabetes.org.

The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi will be following all CDC guidelines.

Participants who would feel more comfortable doing a virtual walk with family and friends are encouraged to do so.
