In 2026, a team of 12 runners will take on a grueling long-distance relay inspired by Eric Stevens and his journey with ALS. Most of these runners are people who know Eric personally — friends, former teammates, and college roommates —coming together to honor his courage and fight.
The relay spans 36 legs, averaging 5 miles each, with runners rotating through day and night. It’s physically demanding, emotionally intense, and a test of teamwork and endurance. Every step reflects the relentless nature of ALS and the strength it takes to face it every day.
ALS doesn’t wait, and neither do the families impacted by it. The axeALS Foundation exists to stand with them—providing direct grants, essential resources, and meaningful support when it’s needed most.
