2026 Handleman/Harris Walk for Autism

Join us for a Special Walk in 2026

Where: Rutgers Log Cabin and Pavilion: 112 Log Cabin Road New Brunswick, NJ 08901 

When:  Sunday, October 25, 2026: 10 am - 12 pm

What: A walk to benefit kids and adults with autism at or alums of Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. This year we will be honoring the legacy of both Dr. Jan Handleman and Dr. Sandra Harris.

Join us for an amazing day with live music, a bubble show, face painting, balloon creations, henna art, treats and more!

You'll be supporting DOORS, and honoring the memory of Dr. Jan Handleman, a pioneer in autism education and director of the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, as well as well as Dr. Sandra Harris another major leader in autism from the DDDC.   

Then, post your updates and videos for all to see, share your team with friends by clicking SHARE, and take a walk with us on Sunday, October 25th! Walk either in person at the beautiful Douglass Gardens, or in your home or neighborhood.  

As always - 100% of all funds raised go to support programs funded by DOORS, a parent-run 501 c(3) which provides essential social, educational, and recreational services for children and adults with disabilities at the DDDC.  Every dollar raised will provide a benefit to these programs and will make a lasting difference in the life of a DDDC student.
