One Hundred Black Men of South Florida, Inc.

For over 30 years, the members of the 100 Black Men of South Florida have dedicated their time and their talents to the South Florida community. The members of the 100 Black Men of South Florida are professional men who recognize the value and embody the spirit of the motto of the 100 Black Men of America, "What They See Is What They'll Be".

Our concept is simple. We take professional men of character and put them in front of our disadvantaged youth. Our goal is to let the children see that they can be what they want to be in life if they believe in themselves and work together. In our experience with young men, seeing is believing. The Dr. Harold E. Guinyard Leadership Academy, our flagship mentoring program, is but one way that we accomplish our task. Our "Young Leaders" participate in bi-weekly mentoring sessions with our members. The commitment to our Young Leaders extends from 6th grade until their successful graduation from high school and matriculation into college.

We also partner with Miami-Dade County Schools with our Positive Youth Development program. The success of our programs can only truly be measured by our greatest achievement. Our membership ranks have grown to now include men who were once our mentees and Young Leaders as boys. While it is a simple truth that all boys will one day become men if they live long enough. For us, it is heartening that our boys have become 100 Black Men as well.
