"I have served as Executive Director of the 100 Club of Arizona since 2001 but my first experience with the 100 Club came several years before. In 1998, my husband, DPS Officer Doug Knutson, was tragically killed in the line of duty. The 100 Club knocked on my door and handed me a check. I couldn't believe I was receiving this money that I did not have to pay back. Years earlier, in 1983, our six-year-old son was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while walking down the sidewalk. I had gone to the bank the next day to borrow money to pay for his funeral. After Doug was killed, I went to the bank the next day, but it was to deposit the check that the 100 Club gave me.

The 100 Club’s mission is to support the families of public safety in times of tragedy. Having been a recipient, I truly understand what the 100 Club’s benefits, both financial and emotional, mean in a time of crisis.  I am a passionate advocate of public safety families." Sharon Knutson-Felix
