About 1in9:  

Shocked by the statistic that 26 million Americans, 1 in 9 adults, have kidney disease...and 90% don't even know it, Raymond and Analyn Scott knew it was time to sound an alarm.

Raymond Scott was part of that 90% in 1998 when he “crashed” into dialysis at the age of 29 when his kidneys failed due to high blood pressure. The knowledge gained through their own experiences led Raymond and wife Analyn to create 1in9 Charities, Inc, to create hope and to change the trajectory of kidney disease, with a vision to save millions of lives through their key pillars of Awareness, Prevention and Regenerative Medicine.  

Kidney disease is the 9th leading cause of death in the United States, and it is responsible for more deaths each year than breast cancer or prostate cancer.  Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two leading causes.

1in9 published the book 1in9 Tribe - Kidney Disease Warriors Beating the Drum of Hope and Change and is filming a documentary while creating and participating in exciting community events across the U.S. to shine a light on the urgent need for prevention efforts for the now estimated 1 in 3 Americans that are at risk for developing kidney disease in their lifetime.
