1 St Downs 4 Life

1st Downs 4 Life™, the non-profit organization of NFL veteran and St. Petersburg native, Louis Murphy Jr., is celebrating 10 years of making an impact in the lives of Tampa Bay youth.

The start of 1st Downs 4 Life™ was a way to honor the service and continue the legacy of Louis’ mother, Filomena, who passed away in 2008 from Breast Cancer. Louis shares “gaining first downs is the object on the field to position a team for scoring and victory, so it is in the lives of our youth. If I help them gain “first downs” in life, they will have a greater opportunity for victory”.

Over the past 9 years we’ve had the privilege of adding value to the lives of over 5,000 youth with our football and cheer camps, community involvement and youth oriented events, where we’ve provided unique opportunities.
