A Cats Friend Inc

Thank you for supporting A Cat’s Friend Inc. throughout 2015.  Your contributions helped provide food, shelter, and veterinary care to more than 350 feral and abandoned cats living outdoors, in 52 different locations throughout Prince William County, Virginia, as well as 100+ rescued cats living in foster care. 

Our local communities are seeing an increasing number of abandoned and feral cats.  They live on the street, behind apartment complexes, restaurants, alleyways, townhouse developments, and dumpsters. Sadly, many of these cats go without food, they live without shelter, do not receive medical attention when injured, nor receive love and affection.  Ultimately, many of these cats die of starvation or illness.  Those that do live produce offspring and multiply like wildfire.

Many of the homeless cats that A Cat’s Friend Inc. cares for have already suffered the pain of abandonment by their families, and now survive only with the food that is provided by concerned caretakers. They do not have warm laps to snuggle into, or bowls filled with clean and appetizing food to enjoy anytime they want, and most importantly, they lack the safety of a loving home.  They hide from strangers that might harm them and try to protect their young kittens. They live in the rain, the cold, the snow, and the bitter reality of life on the streets that could turn violent at any time. 

 

A Cat’s Friend has experienced a busier than usual year.  Not only did we take in approximately 30 kittens, we’ve also assisted many who can no longer keep their cats. We have grown as an organization and have gained quite a number of volunteers, and popularity has increased due to social media and neighborhood events in which we have participated.  We have also found loving homes for 58 cats thus far in 2015. Sadly however, financial support has been minimal, thus requiring many of the volunteers to cover large vet bills and pay for large quantities of cat food so the cats in our care can be fed.

As an all-volunteer organization, we cannot survive without your support.  Donations are needed for insulated shelters, food, medical attention, and spaying/neutering and vaccinations.  Any contribution will make it possible for us to continue this life saving work and fortify these cats for another long winter season.
