FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT: THE ROAD TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM!

At A Hand Up Community Resource Center Inc, we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to bridge the gap for individuals facing financial challenges by connecting them with essential resources to improve their quality of life. One of our passions is teaching people of all ages how to manage their money and take steps toward building a secure financial future. 

To help build these important skills, throughout the year we offer engaging and incentivized 6 to 8-week programs focused on empowering individuals through financial education. Our programs cover a variety of topics, including understanding how money works, navigating the banking system, investing basics, debt reduction/elimination, credit management, and homeownership essentials, among many others. Our Spring program prepares potential homeowners, and our Fall program takes a deeper dive into financial literacy.

We believe it's never too early to start learning about money! That's why in the Summer we offer two successful programs designed specifically for youth ages 12-18: Mind Your Money and Empower Your Future® and Building Cycles of Success®. These programs teach young people the fundamentals of how money works and show them how financial knowledge can open up new opportunities, steering them away from potentially harmful activities.

All our programs are thoughtfully designed to include incentives, allowing participants to earn real dollars for their active participation. We understand that committing to several weeks of classes is not always easy — it can mean finding childcare, sacrificing work hours, or overcoming the anxiety of diving into unfamiliar topics. By offering these incentives, we aim to honor and ease those challenges, recognizing the effort it takes to make time for personal growth. We want every participant to feel valued, motivated, and supported on their journey toward financial empowerment.

We’re here to make financial education accessible and rewarding, recognizing the effort it takes to prioritize learning in a busy world. With the help of the donations received via the Give For Good Louisville campaign, it is our goal to support every participant in building the confidence and skills needed to achieve financial independence and create a brighter, more secure future. Whether just starting out or looking to improve their financial knowledge, we're excited to help everyone take the next step on their financial journey!
