A Scott Crossfield Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization

The Crossfield Campaign is a multi-year fundraising effort towards new and improved science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) tools for all Crossfield Elementary School students. Led by the Crossfield Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), the Crossfield Campaign seeks to raise $90,000 over 3 years with an annual goal of $30,000. 

The bulk of year’s funds will be used toward the purchase of new laptops. Computers are used on a daily basis by Crossfield students. Existing technologies are aging and failing from such frequent use. Staff are struggling to meet the demand for functioning and quality learning tools. The remainder of funds will support a host of other PTO-sponsored activities enjoyed by the entire school such as assemblies, field trips, teacher/staff appreciation and training, school events, and more.

Crossfield Elementary School promotes Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, and Creativity. 

At Crossfield, teachers differentiate to meet the needs of students with varied learning styles and abilities. Students are encouraged to develop an understanding of both the content and the process of learning. If we meet our fundraising goal, ALL Crossfield students will be able to have the modern and relevant tools they need for 21st Century Learning!

Testimony from Tony Felt, School-Based Technology Specialist:

“Crossfield would like to try and implement a 1:1 student to computer ratio in 3rd-5th grade. We realize that this is a large task and may take a while to complete, but every little bit helps. Crossfield students would be best served by 2 to 4 new carts of laptops. Each cart contains 16 laptops and would be used by all students when needed. The price of each cart is approximately $15,000. I realize 4 carts is a little pricey, but 2 would be extremely helpful and I am confident our Crossfield community can make it happen this year!”
