Axis Project Inc

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Axis Project is to promote social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of children and families in our communities through weekly programs, mentoring, and partnerships with parents, schools, churches, civic leaders, and other organizations.

Thirty-five Axis volunteers partner with families, schools, and other organizations to impact area youth through mentoring and education. Mentoring targets families living in poverty and focuses on youth character building and developing life skills. We serve 2 high schools, 1 junior high, 2 elementary schools, and a small group of children and teens. Youth served are actively involved in small group mentoring sessions, school Christian club meetings, and community outreach projects.

Testimonials

I am so elated to be part of the Axis project! They come to H.L Bourgeois faithfully and cordially immerse our students with the ardent love of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, they exhibit a warm compassion for our kids while taking the time to counsel their personal needs!! I am blessed to be a part of a wonderful team.- Saundra Smith, HLB' s Asst. Principal

When I arrived at Oakshire 6 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce were supportive parents in our school and community. Now even though their students no longer attend Oakshire, they continue to support and mentor Oakshire's students. Through their mentor program they provide support inthe areas of leadership, self-esteem, self-help, behavior support, and academic support to the Oakshire students. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce are at school on a weekly basis to have lunch with the students that they mentor. The student's faces light up and are happy to see them. Students are eager to share their stories of school and home with the Pierce's. The Pierce's are a positive influence in our school community. Their mentorshipprogram gives students positive role models as they develop into adulthood.
Sincerely,

The Axis Project meets with students at Evergreen Junior High School every Monday. They have proven to be an asset to the school. The students look forward to Mondays to share with Ms. Stephanie and others, they are wonderful. I am told by students and the sponsors that the speakers and entertainers are magnificent. They provide treats for the kids weekly and they are much appreciated by the kids.
