Ability Beyond Disability Inc

Our story began in 1953, with a group of Danbury parents who shared a powerful dream for their children with disabilities:  a life in which their special needs did not define who they were, what they did or where they could go.

More than 60 years later, that dream has grown into Ability Beyond, an award-winning nonprofit that empowers 3,000 people with disabilities to find work, live as independently as possible in communities of their choice, connect with educational, recreational and social opportunities, and fulfill their personal goals.

With deep local roots and initiatives that span the country, AB provides one of the most comprehensive health and human service networks in Connecticut and New York for people with a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, autism spectrum disorders, mental illness, and addiction.

We're also helping major corporations like PepsiCo and American Express diversify their workforces at every level, by sharing our decades of experience in disability employment.

As the needs and numbers of people with disabilities grow, Ability Beyond remains committed to serving folks at every point in their lives. We even specifically build our programs to be shared, replicated and scaled by other nonprofit organizations -- so an investment in Ability Beyond is an investment in a rising tide for the entire disability care sector.
