Abundant Housing Atlanta

 We are Abundant Housing Atlanta, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the housing shortage in Atlanta and its metro regions. 

We envision an Atlanta that is inclusive, compassionate, and sustainable. We envision a region that is as welcoming to new neighbors as it is respectful of legacy residents. We imagine a city where everyone, no matter their background or income, can find a place to proudly call home. 

How do we make that happen? How do we ensure everyone in Atlanta is safely and comfortably housed? Homelessness, poverty, and historically racist zoning policies need to be fought and undone. 

At Abundant Housing Atlanta, we approach this fight though five prongs. 

- Legalizing housing. 

- Funding affordable housing. 

- Increasing housing stability. 

- Streamlining permitting. 

- Fixing broken incentives. 

Each one of our dedicated members volunteers their time and energy to the cause. They speak at City Hall or at their Neighborhood Planning Unit meetings. They work with in coalition with other groups for increased visibility and support. They speak to journalists and write about the housing shortage. They are pioneers in thought leadership about Georgia's housing shortage. 

However, this work ceases without people like you, funding this movement. In short, more neighbors can mean a  better quality of life for us all. To enable this level of thoughtful growth, we need thoughtful zoning reforms that will allow it to happen. From attached and detached additional dwelling units in existing single family neighborhoods, to small buildings near transit, to reduced parking requirements city-wide: small steps can add up to big chances, helping us achieve our goals of a more affordable and inclusive Atlanta.
