ACEF is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, designated as a public charity that helps provide electricity as a basic human right to formal and informal communities in a more sustainable way.

Access to energy is critical for human health, access to education, socioeconomic opportunities, gender equality, and food security. We believe that the right to energy is not only achieved by extending access to electricity, strategies are also needed to help families cover the costs of electricity.

We work to obtain support to increase energy access with environmentally conscious and affordable projects for low-income communities in developing countries and communities recovering from natural disasters. In addition, our programs promote the transition to a more sustainable energy future by advancing the use of green building design practices, energy efficiency products and renewable energy sources.
