Accessity helps small business owners like Bertha. Her business, The Computerized Cobbler, is located in a mall in Escondido. Bertha's business decreased due to the pandemic while people stayed home to curb the spread. Bertha received a COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Loan from Accessity to use as working capital, and transitioned to online and curbside services for her clients to keep her business running despite the challenges presented by the public health emergency.

Accessity, formerly known as Accion San Diego, opens doors of financial opportunity to those historically with less access to capital and business support: entrepreneurs of color, women, immigrant, and low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs, so they can build a prosperous business and livelihood for themselves and their families, while also strengthening our communities.

Accessity has acted as an access to capital and business education resource for San Diego entrepreneurs since 1994. The organization has disbursed more than $56 million through over 5,175 loans so that small businesses can start, maintain, and grow operations. Accessity is certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and holds Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star rating for our commitment to transparency, ethical governance, and fiscal responsibility.
