Act One Foundation

Act One’s mission is to conduct educational field trips to the visual and performing arts for Arizona’s underserved schools and to improve access to the arts for all individuals in our community.

Since 2011, we have worked to enhance arts education in Arizona for more than 40,000 students who would not normally have the access to the arts. Arts participation is an essential ingredient to a child's development of life and learning skills such as leadership, critical thinking, and creativity.

Act One opens doors to the arts through two special programs that serve K-12 students in Maricopa and Pima County and families and individuals who have a library card in Maricopa County. 

The Act One Field Trip program engages students from Title 1 schools in arts learning opportunities with hands-on field trips that provide a lasting and meaningful experience that is aligned with Arizona’s Core Curriculum. Act One recently adopted the Culture Pass program which provides a unique opportunity for people in our community to attend a performance or visit a museum at no charge, simply by checking out a pass at their local library. The Culture Pass exposes families to new experiences and gives our arts partners a grassroots method for building their future audiences.
