Adams County Historical Society Inc

The ACHS was formed in 1978 in part, for the purpose of restoring the historic 100 year old P&IN Railway Depot in New Meadows and to create a museum.  In 2012 much progress was made and the public spaces of the 1st floor were beautifully finished utilizing as much original material as possible.  We now want to move onto the second story as well as add a prep kitchen area to the Freight Room.  The "kitchen area will make food handling for receptions, parties and meetings much more convenient and add to the rentability of the room for public activities.

The vision for the second story is to become an arts center where local and visiting fine craftsmen and artists from throughout the northwest can hold classes in a variety of disciplines, using the wonderful natural light provided through the magestic windows.  By expanding the tourism attraction of the building and including the arts community it is hoped that a the local economy can be boosted due to tourism.
