In 2013, 22.7 million people needed substance abuse treatment; only 11% of them received it. We can do better.

Substance abuse has had a devastating impact on public health, safety, and families in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 129 people per day die of drug overdoses while admissions to treatment for prescription opiates increased 500 percent between 2000 to 2012. The failure to provide treatment to those who need it has made the country less healthy, less safe, and has resulted in substantial economic costs. We envision a world where fewer lives are lost and help exists for the millions of Americans affected by addiction.
