Every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves the chance to explore the magic of books.

Who We Are: On December 4, 2020, our lives changed forever.  While on a family vacation, a car struck and killed our children, 6-year-old Addie and 4-year-old Baylor. Though our time with them was short, they made a difference in our lives every day. To preserve their legacy we have created the Addie & Baylor Kirchgessner Foundation.

What We Do: Thanks to our donors, we're continuing the legacy of Addie and Baylor together. We provide more than just books. We provide families and children with the invaluable opportunity to spend time together, bonding over the pages of a good story, and fostering a deep, lasting love for literacy. One of our most significant efforts is getting books into the hand of children who need it most. We go to schools in Louisville and Southern Indiana with the lowest reading scores and cover the cost for ALL students to receive THREE FREE books from their school's Scholastic Book Fair.

With a donation to the Addie and Baylor Kirchgessner Foundation, you help us get more books into the hands of children through more book fairs, book pop-up events, classroom and library renovations, and more.

Thank YOU for keeping Addie and Baylor spirits alive and ensuring all children have access to high-quality books.
