Adopt A Class

Adopt A Class connects businesses and civic groups, as mentors, with students in schools with high percentages of poverty. Serving students Pre-K through 8th grade, our program exposes students to a breadth of experiences and careers, while sparking a culture of teamwork among our mentors.

The Cincinnati region has the 5th highest rate of childhood poverty in the US. We are working to end this epidemic by bringing career-focused, school-based mentoring to 5,000+ children every year.  Adopt A Class mentors expand the horizons for our regions children, enabling them to dream BIG and work towards GREAT things for their future.  

With your donation, help us:

• Provide an entire year of mentoring for teams
• Sponsor educational field trips for classrooms
• Bring Adopt A Class STEM programming and all required materials to classrooms
• Create activities specifically tailored to the needs of students
• Provide specialized training sessions to new mentors.

Studies being released on the impacts of COVID-19 show that students will return to school this fall with significant gaps in learning. Students will need caring mentors who see their potential and will inspire them to reach that potential. Given that research clearly indicates the educational attainment gap has disproportionately widened for students living in poverty, it is critical that we recruit new teams to mentor additional classrooms to reach more students in need.
