Adventures in Learning Inc

Adventures is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides free after school care, homework assistance and social and cultural enrichment to low income, at-risk elementary school students living in the Town of North Hempstead.  Adventures serves up to 70 children per year.  Its mission is to provide these children with a safe, stable after school experience and an opportunity to develop academic, social and life skills.  Additionally, Adventures provides the only free, high quality after school care for low income working parents in this area.

          Adventures was established in 1969 by the Congregational Church of Manhasset in cooperation with the Manhasset Public Schools. Widely recognized as providing comprehensive, effective and cost efficient programs, Adventures receives tremendous volunteer and financial support from local service organizations, community groups, religious institutions and individuals.  In the past five years, Adventures has provided services to more than 325 families through its after school, parent network and summer camp programs.
