Advocates and Attorneys for Students With Disabilities

Every day in Mississippi thousands of children with disabilities attend school but – for a reason that is senseless and no fault of their own – fail to learn:  They have not been provided the services and accommodations that would enable them to succeed.  Access to knowledgeable education advocates is essential for parents of children with disabilities to have an equitable seat at the table.  It is also essential for parents to have a means of enforcing the special education mandates when necessary.  However, there is an enormous need in Mississippi for the provision of this combination of services.  AASD was created to fill this need.  Our mission at AASD is to ensure students with disabilities have the opportunity to receive the special education services they need to learn, achieve, and transition to live happy and productive adult lives.
