Aid for Aids of Nevada Inc

Now in our 32nd year, AFAN is the largest non-profit AIDS service organization in Nevada, assisting its residents living with HIV/AIDS since 1984. AFAN provides important supportive services designed to stabilize and empower clients after their HIV diagnosis. We guide our clients through our referral and monitoring programs, connecting them with HIV specialists in various fields of medicine.  We educate them through weekly seminars that address their physical and mental health.  We provide taxi vouchers and bus passes for those who are medically fragile and need transportation to their healthcare providers.  We provide assistance with housing and utility costs for those who are not able to keep a full-time job due to HIV-related complications. We provide nutritional counseling, food vouchers and dietary supplements to low-income individuals affected by weight loss due to HIV progression. We educate diverse and high-risk groups about prevention and HIV testing through community outreach initiatives.  Finally, we focus our kids program on ensuring that children affected by HIV are able to hang on to a sense of normalcy as they learn to live with HIV/AIDS. 

This year the monies we raise through Nevada's Big Give will help fund some of our clients' most common needs.
