Africans for Mental Health (AFMH) provides mental health education, advocacy, mentorship, referrals, support, public awareness, and research through the I Am Africans for Mental Health Initiative. We unite stakeholdersā€”those living with mental illness, caregivers, advocates, mental health professionals, and organizationsā€”under the banner of a healthier, more compassionate global village.

Our valuesā€”collaboration, integrity, compassion, appreciation and gratitude, and culturally competent behavioral health careā€”drive our mission to bring positive change.

AFMH operates in Texas and Maryland, transcending boundaries to touch lives. The pandemic prompted a shift to virtual programming, where AFMH actively promotes mental health awareness, effective treatments, early intervention, and quality care. Through lived experiences, caregiver education, advocacy, and research, AFMH's initiatives, amplify the diverse experiences of our communities. Your contribution will expand our work in the following program areas: Behavioral Health Education; Mindfulness; Team Conquerors; Support Groups;  Crisis Support and Therapy Assistance.

Your donation can make a substantial impact, aiding us in breaking the chains of stigma and providing essential mental health support to our communities. Stand with us as we strive to normalize mental illness, reshape perceptions, prioritize mental well-being in the African global community, and foster a world of understanding and compassion.
