To advocate and provide education and support to ensure the best quality of life for Nebraska's older adults and persons with disabilities.

The Agency on Aging provides a variety of services, including Care Management, Medicaid Waiver, Health/Nutrition, Senior Health Insurance Counseling, Family Caregiver Support, Long-term Care Ombudsman and Legal Services. The Agency is also an Aging Disability Resource Center that assists persons needing long-term services and supports. The Agency does not charge for these services but accepts contributions to help cover the costs and expand services. Funds may be used to cover the costs of personal emergency response systems for clients, which allow them to call for help if needed. Funds may also be utilized to help pay for home delivered meals for older clients that are homebound and have no one to prepare meals. All of the services the Agency provides are intended to allow older persons to remain independent, in their own homes for as long as possible and to avoid premature institutionalization.
