In early 2010, a group of public health professionals committed to ensuring equitable access to HIV services in Zimbabwe founded Pangaea Zimbabwe AIDS Trust.  Fully registered as a local trust in August of 2012, PZAT, as we became to be known, has evolved into a dynamic organization, driven by the vision of a world where people affected by HIV lead healthy and quality lives.

PZAT’s founding organization, Pangaea Global AIDS, has recently made the difficult decision to close its doors. This marks an important moment for PZAT to evolve as a truly independent, Zimbabwean-led organization.

In the true spirit of PZAT’s optimistic and progressive approach, we embrace this transition as an opportunity to re-chart and re-envision our future and continue our important work towards ending AIDS.  Our current programs include;

• Ensuring access to integrated sexual reproductive health and HIV services to young people in Chitungwiza, through the SHAZ! Hub
• Safeguarding  quality service delivery to priority populations, by capacitating communities in the use of community score cards to stand up to discriminatory behavior at health facilities
• Advocating for progressive health policies, prioritizing the scale-up of treat all, viral load monitoring and oral PrEP for populations at risk
• Collating, analysing and utilising data from Health Information systems to improve the roll out of the National HIV programme, and
• Making sure that the voices of people at risk for or living with HIV are heard in the development of the global and local guidelines governing the programs that affect their health and livelihoods.

PZAT has developed a broad range of relationships in Zimbabwe and globally, and we are so grateful to all of you for being a part of our network!  We are counting on the continued support from our friends, partners and stakeholders to help us continue to achieve our vision.  Please check out our new website (http://www.pzat.org).

The money donated here will be managed generously by our key partner in HIV prevention advocacy, AVAC (http://www.avac.org), with all proceeds transferred to PZAT.  We thank AVAC for this support and we thank you for your generous donations!
