American Institute of Graphic Arts

 

Hi there. My name's Dani and I'm part of the volunteer-run board of directors for AIGA Nebraska. The truth is, most days I’d rather be working on a passion project or meeting up with friends. Or at the very least, taking iPhone photos of my cat and binge-watching Netflix.

But today is different. Today I’m volunteering for AIGA Nebraska for a lot of reasons: they represent me in Nebraska; they provide scholarships for design students; they advocate for designers, developers, illustrators, and everything in between; they bring out the best local talent through the Show design exhibition; they bring speakers I never dreamed I’d get to see in person (Jessica Hische, Lauren Hom); and they do everything they can to inspire and connect their members.

I’m here today so that Kasey can raise money for our Designing Opportunity scholarship and Jamie can line up more hands-on workshops with area professionals. I’m here today so Elizabeth can spend countless hours tirelessly planning the fancy 25-Year Gala we’re throwing for our members this summer. I’m here so Amy can find spots for our quarterly Studio Open Houses and Samantha can line up the very best judges for this year’s Show exhibition.

 

I’m here because I believe the work that AIGA Nebraska does for designers is really important. After all, AIGA is the biggest network of creatives, working hard day-in and day-out to assure that you and I have all the learning opportunities, events, and community that we could ever want. But AIGA Nebraska, like any other non-profit organization, depends upon the generosity of others to be successful.

 

I’m sure that the design community is important to you, as it is to me. I truly appreciate you taking the time out of your undoubtedly busy day to read this, and hope that you consider donating to AIGA Nebraska today.
