ʻĀina Hoʻokupu o Kīlauea is the first thriving vertically-integrated agricultural center in the state of Hawaii:

2,000 lbs. of produce a week
Raise multiple types of livestock
5 independent farmers on-site
Produce Boxes Program feeds over 200 families in need a week 

ʻĀina Hoʻokupu o Kīlauea (AHK) is a community-based organization created to assist the County of Kauaʻi in developing 75 acres of the Kīlauea Agricultural Park, now known as the Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center (KCAC). We are the continuation of the Kīlauea Agricultural Association created in the 1980’s, and whose late president Johnny Akana is honored by naming our new farm market store after him; without his initial efforts, this place would not have been possible. 

Our retail market Johnny's connects our community with our food, brings value and health, and increases our relationship with the ‘āina (land).

AHK has a 60-year lease for the property. Since September 2015 when AHK received its 501(c)(3) status, we have raised over $10 million in total funding and installed over $5 million worth of assets on site. Much work has yet to be done. 

The farm provides 2,000 lbs of produce a week, plus eggs, meat, and fresh fish. We service about 200 families through the store, but 70% of the farm production goes toward our Produce Boxes Program that are donated weekly. We are not able to provide for meals in our kitchen, as well as other commercial accounts, without increasing production or supporting other farmers. The need for labor and acquisition of small farm equipment will allow us to meet that demand.
