Air Command And Staff College Gathering Of Eagles Foundation

The Gathering of Eagles Foundation honors Airpower legacies to inspire leaders.  We network aviation heroes, leaders and innovators with the next generation of Airpower advocates by creating an environment to share personal experiences, successes and failures.

The first Gathering of Eagles was held in 1982 when a small faculty and student group at the US Air Force's Air Command & Staff College was chartered to develop an aviation heritage program. This program encouraged the study of aviation history and honored the contributions of aviation pioneers.  Fifteen distinguished aviators, known as "Eagles," were invited to share their lessons and experiences with active military and civilian leaders though a series of teaching interviews and social interactions.  Original Eagles include Jimmy Doolittle, Neil Armstrong, Chuck Yeager and Curtis LeMay.  Since 1982, Gathering of Eagles has honored over 450 Eagles. 

Every year, the Gathering of Eagles Foundation researches and invites 12-16 Eagles to share their lessons and experiences with over 500 civilian and military leaders, including 70 foreign officers from 60 different nations.  The cost of these educational opportunities requires approximately $100K from the foundation annually, raised through charitable donations.

Your contribution allows Gathering of Eagles Foundation to:

1. Finance educational opportunities linking Eagles with rising military and civilian leaders.
2. Provide annual scholarships to ROTC & JROTC cadets, ensuring the next generation of aviation leaders gains support necessary to start their journey.
3. Commission an original oil painting commemorating the lives of those aviaton pioneers selected as Eagles for permanent display at Air Command & Staff College.
