The Akron Civic Theatre, an historical and vibrant nonprofit cultural arts center in downtown Akron, enriches the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the region by presenting a diverse array of local and national performing artists and community events.

You can help us PRESERVE this glorious historic building and iconic Akron landmark, SUSTAIN the theater through creative, diverse programming, and ENGAGE all members of our community by making the theater accessible to EVERYONE.

As a donor, you help preserve one of the region’s finest architectural and historic treasures and make it possible for the Civic to offer an exciting and diverse line-up of cultural arts and entertainment for everyone in our community.

Our stage is home to some of the area’s most talented performers, from ballet companies and jazz musicians to singer/songwriters and emerging talent. Because of community support from friends like you, the Civic is poised to deliver our most active season ever.

Last year, over 135,000 people came to the Civic to enjoy a record number 198 events. This season, the Civic will keep the momentum going. In addition to presenting our own events such as The All-City Musical, the Family Series, Jazz@The Civic, Blues@The Civic, The Club@The Civic, Civic Nights and more, we’ll host dozens of events with community-based nonprofits and national touring acts, all to bring our community a robust schedule of performances. And our 150+ dedicated volunteers will help us keep it all running smoothly!

For many people, the Civic is an important community-gathering place and a point of great cultural and architectural pride. For others, it’s part of an economic engine that brings people, employment and revenue to downtown Akron. For nearly everyone, it’s a place that brings back fond memories and serves to create new ones.
