Alabama Justice Ministries Network Inc

We currently work with people incarcerated or formerly incarcerated and their families in Birmingham, Jefferson and North Shelby county. Our trained volunteers visit those incarcerated to reduce the cycle of crime and allow true healing to take place, not just for the inmates, but also for their innocent children and families. Through donations, we are able to provide a Bible to those who request one. Our annual " Christmas at the Jail" program provides not only hot chocolate and cookies to families and children waiting to visit their loved ones, but also lets them know that someone cares for them. Our mentoring program assists those recently released with housing, education, employment, food and clothing to promote their re-entry into our communities as productive citizens. This encourages the re-establishment of the family and helps to reduce recidivism. One of our recent participants is currently working and has moved into his own home. Another participant secured employment two days following  his release and has now been promoted to a company supervisor. These are just two of many successes we are able to bring to you because of your generous donations.
