Founded in 1987, Alabama Waldorf School serves children ages 18 months through 8th Grade. There are about 1,500 Waldorf schools across the globe; we are the only Waldorf school in Alabama.
Thanks to a huge community effort, we recently moved to a beautiful, new, 4-acre campus located in the Crestwood neighborhood, close to Avondale, Forest Park and Eastlake neighborhoods in Birmingham, AL.
The Waldorf curriculum challenges the child at each developmental stage. Our core academic program is integrated with music, art, drama, movement, storytelling, foreign languages, handwork and plenty of outdoor play. We foster not only the intellect, but also emotional intelligence and social repsonsibility. Our mission is to cultivate healthy, confident, compassionate learners who excel academically, socially, and civically. Alabama Waldorf School is proudly accredited by SAIS, AWSNA, and WECAN.
