The Alabama Campaign for Adolescent Sexual Health (formerly the Alabama Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy) envisions sexually healthy people and communities throughout Alabama and advances our mission to champion healthy adolescent development through evidence-informed sexual health education and services. We achieve our mission through training and technical assistance for youth-serving professionals on sexual health curricula and best practices for program facilitation, resource development, advocacy with key decision makers, and collaboration with partners across Alabama and the United States.

The Alabama Campaign was founded in 1999, and incorporated in 2002, in response to a deep concern among community leaders that Alabama had one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the United States. Sex education isn't all about preventing unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections though; building healthy relationships through boundaries, consent, and communication are pivotal to empowering youth in their sexual health.

Sexual health education for young people requires the thoughtful and deliberate attention of parents and caregivers, youth, community leaders, educators, policy makers, faith leaders, and others who have an interest in the healthy development of Alabama’s children and youth.
