About our Theme: In late January of this year our organization recieved a terrible blow. One of our founders and deepest friends had a severe stroke and passed away within days. James Kilkenny left behind him a legacy of planting schools worldwide and training teachers in the fundamentals of truly God-embracing education. Facebook was flooded with stories from around the world as his family and decades of students prayed for him, and then honored his passing. One of the most common questions Jim recieved in recent years was "When will you write a book!?" One young man posted Jim's response to this and it brought tears to our eyes. "You are my book," he said.
This is the vision that James Kilkenny brought to Aletheia Christian College. Never was there a teacher so dedicated to the enrichment of his students minds and hearts, and we will continue to honor his life by pouring into our students and challenging them the way Jim did. Our theme "Teaching Nations, Challenging You" is devoted to his legacy and we hope that you will partner with us as we prepare for the next vital steps of reaching the nations.
1. Accrediation Evaluation! Step 1 and following.
This summer our Dean of Education and Adminsitrative Director will be sitting down face to face for Aletheia's initial pre-application evaluation for international accreditation with TRACS!
This is a huge step for the school and a vital aspect of our vision to able to reach the nations as a recognized provider of higher education degrees.
We are seeking $2,500 for travel expences for the mandatory face-to-face evaluation at the TRACS Virginia Office, and then $25,000 for the coming year which are funds solely for the staff and fees required to reach Applicant Status!
For more details on the extensive requirements of accreditation please visit our website under About Us > Accreditation.
2. "Summer Camp" As always we continue fundraising for this years Summer camp students. 80% of the campers cannot afford more than $10 each! These students come from low-income families and the Valley's diverse refugee and immigrant community.
These students find family and purpose at an ACC camp and we work tirelessly to identify with each young person and break down the cultural barriers which challenge all of them in daily life and school. $100 donation will pay for a student to attend an entire week of camp, expense free! and donations are only given to those students who participate in a pre-camp event or fundraiser put on by their camp counselors.
Please consider giving to change a young persons life!
ABOUT US:
We are a school dedicated to quality education, community and life changing enrichment no matter where you are at in life. Our students have come from Egypt, Haiti, accross the United States AND, from here in the Magic Valley, to be taught to think critically, examine God's word thoroughly, worship God wholeheartedly, teach Biblically, and to serve the church worldwide.
But teaching and learning doens't just happen in the classroom! We get out on the streets, helping to plant new churchs, new schools, and raise up young leaders with Summer Camp outreaches, youth groups, music and community seminars. Our farm and gardens provide food for our faculty, students and the refugee communities we work with. Graduates will have opportunities to go on to Master's level work at an accredited seminary, and have gone on to become ministry leaders in their home communities.
Can't make it to a class or seminar? No problem! We offer a variety of schedules, duo-classroom/online courses, and in home mentorship, specifically for parents wanting help to homeshool their children with pride. From music to missions and more, ACC is here to serve you.
