Alexandria Rugby

Alexandria Rugby's goal is to expand the club by making rugby more accessible to all of Alexandria's youth through scholarships, after-school programs, and reduced players' fees. Please join us during Spring2ACTion to help us raise $3,000 to fund these initiatives.

Alexandria Rugby was formed in 2006 by a group of former rugby players, city residents and rugby enthusiasts. A common desire to see rugby take hold and thrive with Alexandria's youth was the driving force behind forming the organization. 

The mission of Alexandria Rugby is to promote and develop fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership in Alexandria's youth.

Since the Club's founding, Alexandria Rugby has grown to be the second largest youth rugby program in Virginia. Over the years, Alexandria Rugby has won several state championship tournaments, including the U9 Touch Rugby Championships last year.   

Alexandria Rugby seeks to achieve the following:

    * Provide funding and human resources in supporting rugby in Alexandria at the youth, scholastic, and adult levels
    * Work within the community to educate young people in the sport through leagues, clinics, and after-school programs
    * Raise awareness of the sport among Alexandria's general population, and
    * Support rugby's adoption by more local schools and groups
