All Kind

A nonprofit organization

Helping All Kind, in all ways, to strengthen our community for every generation.

Born and raised in Chapin, SC. I graduated from Benedict College in 2001. With a burning desire to fill the community's needs that oftentimes go unaddressed or are under-funded by public agencies. All Kind was born in March 2019; since then we have been able to put smiles on so many faces and meet many of the community's needs.

In 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic's economic impact was felt through job and income losses. The State of South Carolina saw an increase in the homeless population during this difficult time - Richland County's homeless population alone was estimated to be over 500 people. Seeing our community in crisis, All Kind got to work and began meeting at Finlay Park on the first Saturday of each month to provide food, clothes, toiletries, coats, hats, gloves, and sleeping bags to those who are less fortunate. The immense amount of people that we were able to help during that time has led All Kind to establish this as an annual Sleeping Bag drive from November to December.

All Kind has also provided families experiences at Universoul Circus, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, the South Carolina State Fair, and Carolina Lights. In addition to these experiences, All Kind has partnered with FoodShare South Carolina to address the needs of our community within the "food desert" of North Columbia. This area struggles to access healthy foods due to the scarcity of traditional grocery stores outside the more affluent areas of the Capital City. In North Columbia, the high concentration of lower incomes and lack of transportation is a significant issue regarding the community's food security. I am proud to say that as the founder of All Kind, I personally volunteer with FoodShare to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to this area.

All Kind also provides donations of school supplies to students in our county's public schools. We have a food pantry at Windsor Elementary, where Richland Schools District Two Officials reported that funding for the 2022-2023 school year was minimal.
I personally volunteer to coach basketball and baseball in the midland area.

In addition to helping these populations, I sought to address a huge problem regarding child mortality: drowning. Drowning is one of the top five causes of death in children zero to 17 years old. Further, according to the South Carolina Department of Social Services, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death in South Carolinian children aged one through four. To meet our community's need once again, All Kind provided free swimming lessons to children up to 15 years of age.

Here are some of our successful programs we have going on, and with your support we can continue to help more people in the community!
